I walk in the rain
I walk in the rain so no one will see me cry

I walk in the rain for the sun is too hot.
Droplets cooling my cheeks
as the tears stream down, no one can see me cry.
I am all alone now since the walls collapsed.
You cannot reach my hand to pull me out.
I want to stay.
I cannot remove the bricks of the collapsed wall,
or, maybe I just don't want to
at least not for now.
I am safe within these walls
secure, untouched, not able to feel
for to feel this pain again
would only remind me of what it should have been
and that is only a dream to be dreamt and not lived.
I now need to accept what is.
Dreams have come and gone.
Some came true others were never meant to be.
Today I walk alone in the rain
embracing you my friend
as your soft gentle tears fall on mine.
Together you and I will hide my tears
so no one will see me cry.

Helen we all go through different forms of pain in life. I feel yours so deeply. The tears are part of our healing and it does one good to let them flow mine flowed in the middle of town surrounded by lots of people, some came up to say are to you ok is there anything I can do? Some walked past as if to say i understand your pain but not one did I feel not care. Through good friends and support you will come through your pain you have to reach out and ask for help for yourself. I am now going for counselling as I need to have questions answered and a hand that will show me the way back to me. Reach out and ask for help Helen it does work I speak from experience in the past. We cannot control everything that happens to us in life but we can change the way of our thinking to alter how it effects us. Hugs and many of them hun
Love Angelxx

Helen, dear one...may I say that we should embrace and own every emotion we feel. Just as we don't hide or apologize for our smiles, we also should not worry about others seeing our tears. Anyone who understands will not think the tears unusual. I know we like to bear up and be strong but we cannot always be. Sometimes the load is heavy and we do cry. It is healthier to cry than not cry...we need the release. We expect a lot of ourselves...and the demands we put on ourselves are not always fair.

Helen, the walls are safe alright but don't get too comfortable in them for you will not wish to return to society. I encourage you to take small walks, read uplifting material and watch comedy on television. Shut out the world news, murder/drama programs and country music. Do what you can to lift yourself up. If you are a person of faith then take the load to the Lord in prayer. Be mindful of the serenity prayer, take it to heart. One day at a time is all we need to face Helen. You will overcome, it takes a while to get to this dark place and it takes a while to get out of it. If you need to then please seek medical attention. Access your support system, whomever they may be.

Some dreams never come true, I know that and have experienced it too. Focus on the ones that have. Appreciate the small things...those who care will be apparant to you. Be thankful.

Cry your tears need to and then you will feel better. We grieve our losses...yes, even our lost dreams. I feel your pain Helen. I'm sorry you are feeling pain. I know how it gets a person and just hangs on. I've had a good deal of it myself for several years now...but do know that in every day there are blessings. Embrace them.

~Barbara~ *sending a long tight hug of caring to you*

Heart breaking dear friend. Maybe the sunshine will come along

and dry those tears of pain. I am so sorry you are going through all this. I too know all to well of this pain. My daughter still doesn't see the light (or she simply doesn't want to see it). I just have to pray for her. It breaks my heart, but  I have done everything for her. Now, I just love her and pray for her. I hope you see brighter days soon.

Ah, God, Helen...this rips at the very depths of the heart...tearing it to pieces! The pain you are experiencing is so piercing that I can feel it all this distance away...and I cry with you, knowing the torture that your heart is experiencing. My prayers and hugs to you, my dear friend....
