Autumn Takes Center Stage
Goodbye summer time my dear friend.
Your time to shine has come to an end.
We will miss soothing dips in the pool.
But I’m tired of sweating. It’s time to be cool!
Autumn has arrived with her cool silken gown.
And soon her fall leaves will cover the ground.
Her presence is most welcome, especially down south.
Soon we’ll be bobbing for apples using only our mouth.
Old Man Winter will be waiting in the wing.
He can stay away for a while and let the birds sing.
It's time to see what the harvest shall yield.
I will look for the best pumpkin in the field.
I love when the seasons slowly change.
Nature takes her sweet time to rearrange.
It's time for long walks in the cool night air.
Couples hold hands and even kiss if they dare.
I hear the orchestra warming up their instruments?
The performance begins with autumns fall prints.
Vibrant leaves are ablaze with yellows, oranges and red.
Soon visions of sugar plumbs will dance in children’s head.
The Fall Equinox occurs in mid September.
This is a fact that everyone should remember.
Has anyone prepared for the “Autumn Ball”?
I hope so, because today’s the first day of fall.
