Finding Words~3

Finding Words

Is the end of time now getting closer

As police and thugs pull guns from holsters

Bullets are flying and people are dying

Mothers and fathers are out there crying

Crack addicts are watching their backs

Paranoid by imaginary attacks

Dead bodies litter the planets lawn

This moment is gone yet goes on and on

The excuses are lame and always the same

We're stoking the fire and building the flame

Is it a sign we're nearing the end of the line

If I'm feeling sick but my body feels fine

On fresh virgin snow with an everlasting glow

We're writing the ending to our scripted show

Yet we could be mechanics making repairs

Starting right here and spreading to there

Will it be today or is it still years away

This is something that no one here can say

But if the hammer goes click life's gone quick

The time bomb then counts down tick-tick-tick

So I'm wondering how I feel about what's real

Should I still be standing or should I kneel

Is that why I spend so much of my time

Finding words I express to you in a rhyme

Author's Notes:
I wrote this poem somewhere around 7 years ago.
As my writing has progressed over time, I still find it amazing
how the structures of my personal beliefs were built behind the thoughts
contained in some of my poetry and its descriptions of this existence.
They say the answers to life are a rabbit hole of information we either choose
to ignore or explore within our minds unlimited ability to obtain.
Of course it is also said that if we attempt wandering too far past our personal
levels of sanity, the outcome has led to an inability to exist between the known
and unknown dimensions of documented explanations of reality.
In other words a writer tends to allow their imagination unlimited boundaries.
So, what if they discovered the answers that explained life in ways the world
has yet to understand but were no more than ordinary men.
Imagine having that kind of information yet not being able to get many to listen,
much less believe any portion of what they explain as truth.
Because we were never meant to prove the truth of life.
It is the structure of our belief alone that provides that answer.

Your writing is very good. This piece has such a powerful message. I enjoyed reading the "about" part as well.

Dear James...

This write is a powerful reminder to all of us who turn a blind eye to the reality that is all around us. We can hid behind a facade of "everything's wonderful" and miss the fact that the world is dying right under our very noses. How sad is that???

Your ability to put the truth out there in black and white never ceases to amaze me, and this is a prime example of your talent.

Great write, as always!

Hugs from your sis...
