Ochre Moon

IM001150.jpg image by blueyedsoul_cindy

O majestic behemoth moon
Floating in your ochre cloak
Upon a blackened sea
Such passion you evoke

Sprinkling careless moondust
Ever as you beam
In lover's eyes enticing
A mystifying dream

Adorned in flaxen moonshine
So beguiling is your glow
That hearts and minds surrender
To your magical show

This ethereal connection
Mere humans cannot deny
Held captive upon such beauty
Transfixed they do but sigh

Belated congratulations on the award, Cindy. Surely this poem is most deserving. As others have said, the rhyme and flow seem effortless. This is beautiful.

Hugs!

So much better than "when the moon hits your eye like a big pizza pie....."  Not too many can paint such vivid pictures with their words.  It is an honor.....

Hey, why did it take over a year for this to win an award???  Good job Ms. Cindy.  I don't know how you timed this but I think there's a full moon rising tonight.

Congratulations Cindy,  This ochre moon is superb, the balance, rhymes, arrangements, rhythm, all of what I look for in an enjoyable write.  I speak of  ochre colors also in my "Reflected Autumn" to be posted  a little later this Fall. look for it, let me know what you think. Proud to be with you in featured poems, my first one.

Love the layout, while the metre and rhymes feel effortless, when I'm sure it wasn't!
Comment By: Freejag on May 30, 2008 12:28:42 AM Report
Nice work, the rhyming meter tends to stretch out the lines nicely and makes you dwell on the words abit more than one would normally...at least for me anyway

The moon has been used as imagery or metaphor for ages.   Your poem describes it very well, nicely done.

I agree whith what has already been said.  The golden moon is a sight that stimulates love, and awareness.  Great write.

William.

You are one of the finest poets Cindy
It is very hard to wtite a rhyming poem that does not (to me) come over all squashed and mangled to conform...Rhyming or non rhyming you are totally head and shoulders above most

There's nothing more romantic than moonlight. Something about that beautiful orb that just powers strong feelings of one-ness.

Lovely work Cindy!

Just coming off a full moon I appreciate this poetry even more.  Something about the moon and all its stages of light seem to capture the imagination.  Enjoyed the poem.

What was it they said? "Blame it on the moonlight", yeah, when the moon hits the eyes, all bets are off! Great write Cindy.   Henry
