The Fires Of Hell.
The fires of Hell burn brightly
In this green and pleasant land
From drunken youths to child abuse
They take their knives in hand
Yes the fires of Hell burn brightly
And not to light our path
For the robbing thieves and murderers
Who shy not from our wrath
Alas, the fires of Hell burn brightly
For I fear we feed it well
On the lies of politicians
And the wars they cannot quell
Yes the fires of Hell burn brightly
With its endless supply of hate
No longer a green and pleasant land
More a blind chaotic state.

Yes, the fires of hell burn brightly

And burn away our land,

Burn the innocence of youth,

Burn with useless, impotent wrath,

Burn with corpses of children,

Crying, helpless, unheard , unmourned, lost...

I loved it at pb, I love it here dear graham!

A well deserved award!

Love, Zoya

and after Saturday's atrocity at Glasgow airport.......they burn even brighter. Glad my dad is dead and gone....

Those who fought for Britain will be turning in their graves.

There must be pockets of resistance to this endless supply of hate, where there are lamps of hope to push back against the chaos.  There has to be....

Graham, this is disturbingly true. There must be an oasis of sanity somewhere, anywhere! They say a man's home is his castle and I spend an increasing amount of time in mine as I like it less and less "out there". Be well friend, Michael

Dear Graham-
It is unfortunate that simple offerings from centuries ago explained
how mankind could somewhat prevent the fires from hell from burning-
Yet we chose the path we did-
A sad yet true rendition of reality-
Best Wishes to You and Yours My Friend~

Your thoughts are wonderfully expressed my friend...and sadly true...
