Something New

Something's lost.
Life's constant is change.
Something's found.
The unexpected reigns.

Two with understanding,
No agenda to cloud the way.
One evening to be free,
Just dance the night away.

The circuitous journey,
That brings us both this way.
Forget, for just this moment.
Just enjoy the sway.

As night's end drew near,
My gaze from you withdrawn,
The right thing, sweet friend,
Make room for another dawn.

Just then, my eyes found sky,
Struck by the beautiful sight,
Of Venus and the moon,
Conjoined, sharp, and bright.

The sight a reminder,
As your smile had been tonight,
Of just how beautiful life can be,
When things line up just right.

And my joy at being near you,
I hold close to my heart.
Your delicate touch remains,
Long after we're apart.

I found this beauty while looking up the works of writers I enjoyed when I was at CP a few years back.

Your talent is so obvious in this beautiful piece. It invokes romantic imagery and tenderness. Beautifully written.

Richard - I enjoyed this work, partly because I, on December 1st saw and took a picture of the the Moon,Venus, and Jupiter.  The gist of the poem and the romantic is nice.

Agendas have a way of stifling the music. Sweet magic is created when persons of like minds can embrace the pleasure of an experience in the moment when joy is bursting with life and do it without the burden and expectations of a hidden agenda.

Lovely presentation and subject matter Richard, I felt a wonderful freedom when I read this poem and the unity of like minds!
