Time bomb
The skies, they darken with so much strife
Is there no value placed on human life?
My senses tell me that plainly, this is so
Evidenced by the lack of compassion we show

Brace ourselves we should, for the coming storm
Ominous clouds all around us will begin to form
Malevolent forces wish to gather more than they need
Burn this world will, and man will die from his greed
Author's Notes:
Man's lust for power and materialism will destroy us all!

We are by far our own worst enemy. Time is running out! Terrific write Henry, short, but to the point, Joe

Dear Henry-
During a time of innocense, the quest for more was a great thing-
Today in a world of decadence and a "give me more" attitude,
More is not better-
Hope all is well for You and Yours~
Best Wishes to You My Friend~
Peace~
James

The world will certainly be destroyed by mankind...We're our own worst enemies, to use  an old cliche. It's scary to see where we're headed thanks to the greed and materialism of the human race. Personally, I'd be more than content to be with the one I love in a little cabin by a lake...Power and money and possessions? Who needs them...!

This said sooo much in just a few words....Great work!

Hugs...

Glata

Its a pity this rings so true and the truth is only we can change it, so not a lot of hope there then, great poem Henry.
