One Night

One Night

Let my heart be still

In your warm caress

Take away the sorrow

That tomorrow

Will bring unless

You stay.

I would not ask

For one more day

Just the promise

That you will stay.

It may be just a token

But your eyes to me

Have spoken

They whispered softly

To my heart and told me

We should start

This conversation

In the morning.

Beautiful and Delicate, I like the ease of this poem

The best poem I've read in  awhile..The insecurities of an intimate relationship comes across so strongly. The delicacy of the wording, almost tentative. This is from the heart and it showss..I love this inspired, I say INSPIRED poeteic work of art..len
