My beautiful Blue Jay
So beautiful you are, flying through the sky,
chirping every morning,
sitting in the trees,
music singing, carried by the breeze.
I enjoy your visits
with my morning coffee,
watching you through my window,
dancing on the branches of the willow.
suddenly I'm startled by a terrible thud.
Spinning my head, I see
You, my beautiful blue jay
falling to the ground, I worry.
You smashed your tinny head
against the window pane
lifeless now you lay,
my beautiful Blue jay.
Franticly I run
to help you, my dear friend.
Alas your neck is broken
your short life came to an end
Author's Notes:
I'm sitting here having my morning coffee and my beautiful Blue Jay fell to it's death. I feel sad to see my little friend go. So I dedicated this to my beautiful Blue Jay. Sigh

I agree, it's a sad thing to watch. We have them hitting our picture window on occassion. But you wrote a beautiful farewell. jp
