Alone again to think once more
Tears like a river flow
as I cry myself to sleep.
Shadows of the night
rest upon my feet.

Alone again to think once more.

Heavy weights tug at my heart.
Gloom and sorrow tear me apart.
Thinking back how he used to be
when he was only three.

Is he lost? Is he confused?
Is he angry? was he abused?
I don't know what will become of him
as he struggles from within.

He does not know how I Love him so,
To him his mother's love's not real.
He reaches out to those he does not know,
He believes their love will always flow.

The moon is full,
The stars are bright
and here I am alone tonight
to think once more

This depicts the sad yet classic tug of war that the emotions play upon the mind of a parent whose child is lost or unsettled. You always think "Where did I go wrong?" But the one thing you have to remember is that you have given him the standards and morals that he is expected to follow, somewhere along the way he strayed from that path by his own choice. All you can try to do is help him find his way back and hope he stays on that path, the very worst thing you can do is blame yourself because then you have two people lost! I hope you can see your way from this Helen.   Henry

"It will all come out in the wash"

A saying that I have found to hold much wisdom. being the mother of three two sons and a daughter.............I have spent mnay nights as you so elequently describe in your writing.
Tears our guts out I know.

Maturity brings a new awareness. Hold on tightly to that fact

Sometimes the worst thing to do is think. I dread the day I let my angel into the world, some just take a harder beating from the world then others, and I trust he will know your true love one day, if he doesnt already.

Excellently crafted.

None they say to make you laugh and none to make you cry...hard going they are even when they are grown up. They can cause us so much pain all we can do is guide them and hope they listen to our hearts...hoping our love reaches their souls and pray they listen to words of wisdom.

Hugs Helen it is never easy being a parent

My Dear Friend~
Sometimes we find ourselves in places with our children that we

have no idea how to handle-
They are becoming older and making mistakes while at the same time
demanding to run their own life, if we do no more than offer advice we can
be met with anger or resentment-
Someday if we find our way past that period things begin calm-
I believe Len stated it well-
Sometimes we can not do no more than watch and be there when they fall-
Best Wishes To You and Yours My Friend~

As a mother I know first hand the pain a child can bring....

I know the sleepless nghts, the many many tears. The thoughts,

the not knowing what to do next to reach them...My heart

goes out to you dear along with many hugs and sincere prayers.

God be with you and your child dear lady.

Kids have a way of hurting their parents in ways nobody else would think or want to do...

Alas a strength and a weakness, my heart goes out to you.

Dear Helen...

This is so heartbreaking...and one that I can understand, too well....How I wish I had the answers...

I'm here for you, my dear friend...
