Cryin' To Matter
Alone
I feel so very alone tonight
Watching from afar as my love is adored and worshiped by others
So many others
It just rips my heart right in 2
As I stand here feeling
Tongue tied and foolish
On fire to speak
Afraid that the right things just won't come out of my mouth
Standing here
Watching and wishing that he were mine in more then just my dreams
Tonight
Dying a little more inside as once again I start
Cryin' to matter to him

No other suffering like this have I ever known
No other heartbreak so profound and painful
Struggling to get the words out
Trembling and nervous
Feeling stupid
Feeling like the worse kind of loser
Never bold enough to step forward and spill forth my secret yearning for him
Never brave enough to face the rejection that I don't wanna see
In his beautiful dark eyes
Haunting my dreams
I can feel it starting over again anew
Fresh pain and regret
Inside of my heart, body, mind and soul
Cos yet again here I am
Burning for him
Just like a house on fire
Cryin' to matter to him tonight

Reaching out a hand to touch him
Then just as quickly jerking it back before our flesh makes contact
Unwilling and unsure that I want to know
What he would think
If only he knew
Just how very much he matters to me
Would he think me insane or would he take me forever into into his arms so strong
                                                  and comforting?
I must confess
I am afraid
So damm afraid to know that answer
Been hurt before
Had my heart shattered into a million billion pieces
Only now begun to heal
Only now able to love again
As I sit here in a terrible suspense
Wondering if by the end of this awful, wonderful night
I will be adding yet one more scar to this battle weary heart of mine
Breaking and cryin' to matter to him tonight

Fallen so hard
So fast
I could't seem to help myself
Once I saw him smile
Once I heard the seduction in his angel's voice
I was hooked
Trapped into loving him
Wanting and aching for him
For the rest of my days
I had no choice
My heart had choosen its own destiny
Its own fate
Now I sit here writing out his precious name
Longing only to breathe him into me
If only for a little while
I want this perfect dream come true
So that I don't spend the rest of forever
Always wondering
Always thinking of what might have been
Cryin' to matter to him tonight
