A Diff'erent Dress
A Diff'erent Dress
Momma never let me wear a frown
No, she knew there'd be times a plenty for storms
She used to say, 'Cindyloo,
Don't let the rain get ya down
It's just the sunshine wearing a diff'erent dress'
Well I learned fast enough
That going shoppin' for a new one,
Surely makes a girl feel a bit better
So, when Dooney, told me
'I found someone new'
I got out that thar 'merican 'spress
And bought that rainy day some sunshine!
Now, I'm feelin' for some new shoes

Cindy, If the mood strikes you,

And you're feeling even lower,

You can always shake your hips,

And move a little bit slower.

I call what your poem describes as being in,

"Shopping Mode"

Dear Cindyloo-
I wanted to stop by and wish ya a merry Christmas!
I hope things are going well for you and your family-
May the peace of the season fill all your hearts and the
joy fill the days of the coming new year-
Best Wishes to You and Yours My Friend~

Lots of little gems in this poetry.  I needed to read it a handful of times and each time another gem came to the surface.  I like your style, it just brings out Americana to me.  It takes craft to be able to wink at the reader and have the reader smile back.

Hey that's the spirit! I endured years of being told before important nights out "full battle regalia" which meant dressed up to the nines.....

Well, it sort of got to a point that I got so pissed off that I took that Gold Card and I treated myself to anything and everything......sometimes I sigh and wish for one day back with that ole' card. lol
