When you're all alone

Who do you look to when you’re broken?

A shattered being upon the floor

Who puts the pieces back into place

When no one’s there but you?

Who holds the umbrella,

When the skies grow dark and fierce

When your hands are full

And the streets are empty of souls

Who wipes away the crystal tears?

Who sooths your shaken spirit

When things seem impossible

Who is there to help you through?

When all have abandoned you

When life seems to have no meaning

When you keep falling down no matter what you do

Who do you lean on,

When everyone is carrying their own burdens

Who listens to your troubles?

Who will always walk by your side?

When you’re all alone.

Author's Notes:
I was thinking that if there was no God, who would I turn to for help. I came up with the answer of no one but myself. That's a scary thought. I trust myself, but i do fail from time to time. Have you ever tried to do something that required two people, by yourself? It's quite difficult if not impossible. What if you could not find someone to help you with it. What if you fell and were not able to get up, and no one came to help. They all just walked on by. Humans are fallable. They are cruel, mean and heartless. Yes they can be loving, selfless and kind at times. But more offten than not in this world, they will take care of their own troubles before or if even if they help you. I wonder who you turn to, when no one will listen or care. I guess thats why suicide exists. Because they find no one to just listen and understand.

Well, God doesn't hold my umbrella much, but I catch yer drift..Without a faith in something unseen, we are rudderless ships adrift on the bla bla bla..As Archie Bunker said to Meathead, "Faith is the ability to believe something that nobody in their right mind would believe." I have faith in a supreme intelligence behind creation which is not petty enough to burn forever the souls who don't fall in line with the "All praise to me" program..Whether you accept a definition of God from established human organizations or seek him on your own, it's basic to the human spirit to connect with the infinate...Yer pal, len

...And they forget about God.  No God-fearing person with due consideration would return God's gift to Him unopened... or defaced.  If you believe in God, then you have to know that your body is not your own.  Your soul, your own free will... that is yours, and you may rebel spiritually all you want.  But God programmed your body to die slowly, over time to the end that you eventually come to believe in Him.  To end the lesson early is a direct act of disobedience.

All in all, very nice poem.  I relate to this write alot.
