My Imaginary Home~3

My Imaginary Home

My mind flows like a river

Where thoughts run deep and wide

Some things I'll let you see

And some things I keep inside

It is there I've built my castle

It's where I find some peace

And I'll never have to leave

Because I signed a lifetime lease

So I sit and watch the world

Within my sanctuary

It's where I run for cover

When reality gets scary

I have used it for my shelter

From the never ending rain

It is there that I'm protected

From this place of hurt and pain

So if ever you can't find me

On paths where we may roam

Feel free to knock upon the door

Of my imaginary home

Author's Notes:
This poem is from the pages of my 3rd book and is
going to be included in my upcoming 10th book---
Reflections-2 The Very Best of The Journey
The thing I always liked about this one is I was trying
to describe where it is my creative forces from within
are developed and processed-
But I think it also describes very well a place where
we all need to go sometimes when the world becomes
a little too harsh to deal with-

You are a fantastic writer and have written the words I have been searching for but could never find James. Loved it

Nicely penned, James..Flows like a river, if you'll excuse the obvious reference.. I too, have a place inside me where no-one is welcome. I think we all do..Some need it more than others. I consider myself honest, but not completely open, even to those closest to me. Right or wrong, it's who I am..Good job, buddy..len

So clever....

I've always found a welcome sign at the front door of your Imaginary Home.

I'll be there in about 10 minutes! A shelter from life's storms? I could SURE use that! Prepare that spare room, brother mine...I'm coming for a visit!

This is a fantastic piece of writing, James...and I could see that Castle in my mind. I think that we all have one of those retreats...and if we don't have, we end up either losing our minds or creating that place where we can escape to.

Great poem!

Hugs and love

Your NC Sis...Glata
