I voted today
I feel proud
I did the research
I chose those I most agreed with
Voted against some amendments that I felt were wrong
And for some I thought were just.
I exercised my right as a citizen of this bright land
To have my voice heard
What little voice I have
Did you vote today?
You and I may not agree
But did you vote today?
I didnít ask who you voted for
Or what buttons did you push
I asked the simple question
Did or did you not vote this election day?
If you did Iím proud of you
Itís your right and your duty
To stand up and be counted
Even if we voted for completely different things
Both of us can stand tall
For WE voted for what We believe in
For those who did not vote this day
For shame, for shame, shame on you
I bet you have an opinion or two
On what is happening in this country
Why would you keep your voice silent?
Why allow others to decide your fate?
Now those who voted, if things do not go your way
And the country seems to go the way youíd rather not
You have earned the right to complain
To rail against what our elected officials are doing
But those who kept their voices shut this day
Who did not vote and stayed away
You have no one to blame but your self
You let others choose the path
They took the helm when you folded your hands
If the boat crashes because of them
It was your choice to not be heard.
I donít want to hear your whining
How terrible things are
Just remember this next time
So raise your voice and Vote!
