Looks Like Rain
Two lips part. Two lips apart
Break a love and break a heart.
    The wind howls loud,
    And tears the cloud,
But this is just the start.

The whirling sky is a dark grey.
The night's blanket suffocates the day.
    These two clouds fly
    Across the sky;
Each going its own way.

Violence in the sky above;
Brilliant flashes of long lost love.
    The cannons ring
    In this war on the wing,
Drowning the singing dove.

The clouds manage this war
In the midst of the thunder's roar.
    Lightning shrill
    Pierces the cold, dark still;
There will be silence no more.

Both clouds swell with tears
From months of hopeless fears.
    Realizing their demise,
    Each cloud cries
So softly no one hears.

Grey and dreary is this frightening scene,
As the clouds think of what had been
    Before the wind ripped through
    And made them anew.
But alas! I see a deep green.

The storm quietly moves along.
Aware, the sun shines strong.
    A shimmering rainbow
    Allows hope to grow,
And all can hear the dove's song.
