Travelling Again

The golden sun was reflected

On the river's perfect azure

When the bells rang from the Sť

The doves practiced their transience

Jesus collecting my prayers inside his purple heart

But don't worry, don't worry

I don't miss you now

The sea softly told me her secret

In the evening, she likes to touch your brow

Could my life be a reel of late arrivals

So that - ironically - waiting makes things worse?

Now I'm ready to play and to win, just because

But don't worry, don't worry

I don't miss you now

The past embracing the future

Cautiously, but also with boldness and glee

No holdall filled up with tourist souvenirs,

Just a fragrance, a taste and a smile

The coffee left a stain around my longing

But don't worry, don't worry

I don't miss you now

I would relinquish my left arm to be able to write poetry as beautiful as this.True poetic genius,I must say.

This is great, Heike. So many images for the mind to play around with, and ideas to contemplate. I don't understand all the allusions, such as the bells ringing from the Se, but there's plenty of food for thought. I bet it would sound great read aloud. Well done.

No wonder I love you. I must show one of my teachers this piece and then ask them to include your poetry in our course. Really, I mean it. I think I'll do a Phd in Heike-ism. Yeah, can that be done?

yes, you don't miss him now....

this poem affected me deeply. Its like we are thinking the same things

for me it was Paris in the Autumn and Notre Dame...

oh I do not miss him now...(although his coffee left a stain around my longing)

You have such unique talent for saying so much in such a roundabout way.

Passion constrained in 'ordinariness'. Not very easy to portray and yet you do it every time.
