Imagine a chance meeting.
A gentle touching of separate lives,
Synchronized merely in time.
Gentle conversation,
Takes a sensitive flow.
Different from all others.
Interest captured,
With the simplicity of smiles,
Shared intimately between them.
Something sensed,
In the fabric of their lives
A delicate connection mined.
More to share remains
When time to move approaches.
Say their polite goodbyes.
Departing to their separate lives.
She wishes to turn
To see if he's still there.
He watches her grace
Already feeling regret
As she's lost in the crowd.
Beginning, end...
A day more important
Would there be again?

I'm sorry....I was just looking for the men's room...Might as well comment while I'm here, I guess..Some ships take longer to pass in the night than others. You show a sensitivety not easily expressed by most of us palookas. This one kind of touched me, Rich...Gotta go...And I DO mean...I gotta GO!..:O)...len

WOW....this is awesome! You must have had this experience to bring us the intricate details...I know I've had moments like this and one always wonders...

What I love most about this poem is the softness of the words and the way they float into the reader's mind...quiet, tender and coyfully affectionate. This poem should be in the dictionary...under "sensitive".

I LOVE this Richard, bravo!

~Barbara~ *applauding softly to synchronize with his delicate words*

A gentle capture of a brief moment in time. You were able to express the importance of a chance meeting, if it was for nothing more than an appreciation of a momentary connection on a deeper level. I will take this as a reminder to see each moment for the promise that it holds.

What a lovely, sweet, and poignant  encounter.   These chance meetings can set our imaginations running wild.  Might not that have been The One?  Well, anyway, we're left with a warm and wonderful memory.  Very well done, Rich.  ML

Sometimes the waiting and wondering can be as delicious as the meeting..sighing, this was lovely..(and I hope she does.) Barbie
