Failed Quest

I put on my armor and my sword

I packed my sack for the journey

I was going on a sacred quest

To find my hidden purpose

In this crazy fantasy world

They called me fool

Said I was insane

All I am was a loser

They told me I would fail

That I was wasting time

There were some false ones

Who cheer me on

Gave me false praise

Some probably thought they meant it

Told me I was genius

Said I would succeed in my search

But secretly they knew that I could not

I roamed the country side

For years upon end

Fighting Dragons

Defeating Demons

I even found the Chalice

But my life’s meaning still eluded me

I met the Fairy Queen

Dated the Lady of the Lake

Was even taught by Merlin

Tried out ol‘Excalibur

But it was all for naught

I came home in defeat

To the jeers and the laughs

I was distraught

My quest was a failure

I put away my armor

Locked away my sword

My life is pointless

I discovered

The princesses I saved

All married Prince Charming

The king took all my treasure

The village haters were all correct

I am the loser that they said

Their prophecy that I would fail

Came true after all.

This is how i sometimes feel. That I have no talent in anything. That I am mediocre and useless. I cant do anything right and all goes wrong no matter what.

I loved the way that you brought us "failure" within the storyline of your poem, Mad Mod~!  It was progressive, clearly written, and defined for human failure....Good work....
Enjoyable read...

THis is a well written expression of defeat, buddy..Seems like you're trying to take Charlie Brown's job, though..Screw a bunch of village haters!! You have a fine talent for writing..This write proves that..

My quest was a failure

I put away my armor

Locked away my sword

My life is pointless

I discovered

The princesses I saved

All married Prince Charming

The king took all my treasure... Hooboy!! If that ain't the pits!!

Not thrilled with the self-defeat in this write, but love the way it's written..yer pal, Mystery Mug

Failure is not the end, it's just a reminder to try harder and keep going.

There have been times I have failed, but I kept going on because it was needed to be done.

Don't regret failure, learn from it and keep your head up.

The first person you need to beleive  in is yourself. We all have failed at one time or another. You just get back up get on the path again. Just because people say that your a loser doesnt mean its so .Theres a saying it goes like this. You laugh at me because im different. I laugh at you because your all the same.Just be you.Your true friends will accept you and those that dont you dont want to be around anyway.
