Artist, light intense, sister of night

Here she enters

A woman clad in moonlight

Or in the gaudy colours of summer

But she would never wear a uniform

You discover yourself

In your own words

- What came first, the poem or the knowledge?-

You can't help but share it with us

To help us shed our blinkers

Without uncovering your sanctuary

You lead us inside a universe of caring spirits

Passionate mothers, kind strangers on our way

And love that is a bond, not a tie

Your strength is a legend

The image of Phoenix on your brow

Only those who have been below the bottom of the sea of tears

Can truly appreciate the joy of taking flight

While we are sometimes chewing

On the last straw of inspiration

Your well will never run dry

Great poem Heike. I liked the acrostic title. And I think your well-chosen words have presented the essential character of the woman and her poetry. A fine tribute to one of CP's best poets.

I didn't get it from the title, but half way through I knew it had to be.  This is so very Ali.  She's a remarkable woman, a fine writer, a loving soul, and a good friend; everything you say so wonderfully.  This is an excellent tribute.  I love your phrasing.  ML

Ali is a brilliant writer.  I often go to her page of poetry in hopes to find answers....and sometimes I do.  She is a gifted writer and a gifted soul healer as well .  If she were to have deleted her poems, I honestly would have felt lost... thank you for writing this for her...

I am humbled totally by your words, Heike

For you to spend your time and talent on me has reduced me to tears.

Thank you seems so bland for what my heart feels.
