Shiny Wrapper

I've seen a shiny wrapper

Tied up in gold bows

I've seen it opened

With fingers and toes

I've seen what's inside

I've seen how it glows

I've seen a boy pretend

It's a girl that he knows

I saw the tear in his eye

When he found he was wrong

I watched him walk away

And hide to belong

Where he was cornered by cowards

And blood blurred his song
