Smell Like a Rose~7

Smell Like A Rose

Sometimes this life can bring you down
And we feel every beat our hearts pound
Sometimes just when you start to get ahead
Weíre surrounded by problems we canít shed

There are times we donít know what to say
And canít stand it when we feel this way
Yet while completely lost without a clue
Somehow you know youíll make it through

We wonder how we will keep it together
When trapped by lifeís stormy weather
Confusion keeps your mind from thinking
Within the void where youíve been sinking

So we each must remember this fact we know
Emotions like these may come but they go
For this is the way that life sometimes goes
Not everydayís going to smell like a rose

Author's Notes:

This piece is from the pages of my up-coming 7th book-
The Journey~Signs of the 7th Level-
As lifes little problems seem to consume us there are many dealing
with major setbacks right now-
All over the world people have lost their homes, memories and lives of
loved ones due to devistating weather conditions-
Others through ignorence of war and destruction-
Yet I constantly am subjected to hearing people complain daily-
So may these words help you reflect the problems of others instead
of looking at your own-

Dear James...
Once more you've hit square in the middle and nailed this down perfectly. TOOOO often I've felt totally at a loss as to what to say to someone when they're facing difficult or devastating situations. Some days are just too difficult to express away with words...That's when actions speak louder. A hug or a smile can go farther than all the words in the world...And I agree with Karen...those dark days tend to make us stronger, better people.
Hugs, my brother!
Your NC sister...

Your words in this poem are so very true. Not every day is going to come out smelling like a rose. That would make life too easy. As the old saying goes, there has to be darkness before there can see light. I guess it all depends on how we handle the darker days in our lives. Some of our darker moments are what makes us the strongest..

Never a truer word spoken James, I for one feel humbled when I see the things some have to put with in this life, and feel grateful for my lot.
