the poet and the king

There once was a king,

He lived in his castle

In a kingdom of his own

He had every thing

Royalty could bring

Except he was alone

His castle was bare

Since love wasn’t there

Just a building made of stone

He would often daydream

Of finding a queen

A princess to share the throne

And wouldn’t you know it

He sent for his poet

And commanded he wanted a poem

Well the poet came in

With the poem and a grin

And bowed before the throne

This poem will inspire

The one you desire,

Said the poet to the king

Rise from the floor

The king said with a roar

And read me the poem you bring

When the poet did raise

The king was surprised

The most beautiful girl stood there

The king felt she was sent from above

And they fell in love

And lived happily ever after
