Where We Once Perched

The storms came last night, the rain oh so cold
A chill now fills my bones
All strength is gone
and from this life i've lost my hold

After you flew away I waited for you so long,
the years passed but you never came.
Without you the sorrow was hard to bear.
We were like doves, mates for life, weren't we?

The ants are coming, I can hear their march.
I don't have much time
I'll be gone with the setting sun
Should you see it set I'll wave good-bye

The angels are here
They are more beautiful than ever told or picture seen.
They said they've come to take me home
so I must go

For better for worse we once said,
forgive me the worse

I loved you so
Good-bye,
my dove

Keith < I went back and read this very emotional poem again.. heart wrenching to say the least like a wounded dove who has lost his mate always calling with such sadness. .. it brings tears to my eyes.. this kind of pain is a heart killer.. how well I know of this suffering torment..

There is a feeling of sad fragility and abandonment all through this beautiful text

Oh this one grabs my heart and squeezes it tight. The heartache here is tangible. Losing a love is crippling. Some people never get over it and die with a broken heart. I do hope this is not the way with you. Love breaks a heart but love can heal it again.

Excellent expression Keith...I feel this through and through! *hugz*
