Say Cheese
Say Cheese!
Paint it on, let it show
Teeth so pearly, they just won’t know
Show those dimples, flash that smile
Be the phoney, for just awhile
Pretend you're happy, act the part
Wear the mask of a broken heart
Laugh and giggle, give it a try
Forget the pain, don’t start to cry!
Paint a portrait, disguise the hurt
Pose the picture, despair avert
It won’t be hard, it’ll be a breeze
Face the world and just say cheese!

I think we all feel the same way when we take a picture except for me.....when I take a picture, it turns out looking like an X-RAY....go figure! I like this Ms Cindy, truth in writing!

I always say keep smiling because they will wonder what you're up to.

This is a poem that surely invokes a response from the reader. I think most of us from time to time feel this way...Do we smile or let the world know our real moods inside? Seems easier to keep smiling sometimes.

Sure... A delicate facade, one taking much energy to maintain. It takes strength to to put one's self into a scene sometimes, but it can be fun to try! Nice one!

There are times that we all feel this way Cindy.... Wearing a forced smile to hide the tears that are crying inside. Laugh or cry, life does go on and so do we. Wonderful portrayal of polar opposites Cindy, smile through the tears for now, the sun will shine on you again. Henry

People will never see anything but me smile Cindy. I never let them see me sweat, grieve, pout or complain. I have a bad rep around the people I know because of it. They think I am cruel and cold and uncaring. My smile is usually for real though. "Life is to short to spend it in tears, so smile!"

Terrific write, Joe

Beautifully written Cindy, but wouldn't it be better to have a genuine smile rather than a fake one? Love the write though.
