The Forest Is Quiet

Walking around the park
Hand in hand with you,
We stroll through the woods
Like we always do.

Freshly fallen snow from last night
Covers a wide variety of trees,
I feel a small wetness on my nose
Little flakes, blow in the soft breeze.

I stop to look around
Not a sound is heard,
The forest is quiet
Let's just stand here and not speak a word.

I think I found my muse hiding out in the woods. ;o)

This describes so well that longing for total silence you can feel when walking in a snowy forest!

I love those silent nights, snowflakes falling and all seems peaceful with the world. Very nice picture of serenity. jp

Sooo pretty and peaceful! Being outside is my favorite, even though I can't take the cold like I used to. I love a good walk in the snow, seems like it's been forever...thanks for taking us with you..Barbie

Very enjoyable. If I may, there is a distinct flavor of Robert Frost in this writing. Well done, indeed. Michael
