I Dream

I Dream

I dream
When on my bed I lay sleeping
Your face I see so perfectly
The closeness of your breath
Rising softly, gently
In rhythm with my own beating heart
It is then I know our souls are one
You, so far away
I, on this peaceful island
And in my dreams I hold you near
As peacefulness washes over me
I slip into the sleep of angels
Deeply cast into an ocean of slumber
Teeming with endless possibilities
I swim toward the beauty of your love
And marvel at this pearl
This dreamworld lies unaffected
By the struggles of this earth
Dark and secret to our hearts
Untouched by this world's care
I dream, I dream

I dream

A beautiful dream that tells of your love for a certain person. The picture is outstanding and adds so much to your poem.

...and, dear Cyn, you have impaled your thoughts deep into my heart -- not to wound, but to endear yourself to me through that part of us which is the link between reality and our imagination -- our power to dream...  the dream that binds our freedom and our souls.  I always remembered that I would never play the role of a fool as long as I could dream.  You have reminded me of truths I'd long forgotten.  Thank you for the recollection and for the beauty of your pen -- which has awakened my heart.  Tristan

I was talking to some people recently who said they have never experienced a dream.  I don't know if they were yanking my chain but your poem describes perfectly what they are missing.

such restful and restorative sleep of such a nature can be, much the same as your loving description of this blissful state.  you create a place where we long to be (but often are not able to find).  Soft, sweet, romantic - much like the author.  very well done, as always.

Now this was superb Cindy! I found myself softly sighing as each word was absorbed into my thoughts. Wonderful penning..

Awwwww what a wonderful place this is on those rare occassions we find it in that state just between sleep and wakening from a dream. A utopic little world where we all would reside if we could. I love the way your words painted the image of that place. It is something I have always wanted to do but never could quite find the words.... Bueatiful, STUNNING work here!

Cindy, You are too much! This took my breath away!

Our dreams we make our own! Only to be shared with others who otherwise would never know! This was such a beautiful dream! From a wonderful writer who sit it free, on butterfly wings she flew to me! How lovely to see! How lovely,  Clay TheWolf...
