Wheels of Life~L

Wheels of Life
By James L Lagoski

Sally came from the other side of the tracks
But she refused to give up and fall through the cracks
She witnessed so many lives going down the drain
Constantly surrounded by misery, death and pain
Yet she used the streets as a learning tool
She excelled in school-she was nobody's fool
Never giving up hope-never giving up her dreams
Even when her world fell apart at the seams
But on a sunny day when Sally went to the store
Bullets started flying as she walked through the door
A stray found it's mark in the side of her head
Another wasted life-Another innocent child dead

The wheels of life keep turning
The end of the beginning
Keeps returning-returning
When the bell rings
When the bell tolls
Collecting souls-Collecting souls

Simon came from the big house on the hill
For anything he wished his parents footed the bill
He was definitely born with a silver spoon
But sometimes money only helps problems balloon
He started using drugs and thinking he was a thug
Carrying a gun fully loaded with slugs
His parents couldn't connect because he wouldn't respect
Simon had fell too far for them to any longer protect
So on a sunny day while he was working the streets
Simon was doing his thing trying to buy his treats
But the deal went bad and he was double crossed
Another wasted life-another child lost

The wheels of life keep turning
The end of the beginning
Keeps returning-Returning
When the bell rings
When the bell tolls
Collecting souls-Collecting souls

A 100 proof and the fires of youth
A century of years without the truth
Left to lay-lay where they lie
The beautiful flowers we witness die

The wheels of life keep turning
The end of the beginning
Keeps returning-Keep Returning
When the bell rings
When the bell tolls
Collecting souls-Collecting souls
*****END *****

I think these are really great James. If I were musically inclined I would be happy to put music with words this good. Unfortunately I'm not, but I sure would like to hear someone singing them.
