World Within World

there is a world

within this world

hidden in the vastness

of the overwhelming sky

for this apparent planet

has secret places

under leaf under stone

invisible in the corners

undescribable in the shadows..

.

i desire the small world

a nimble place to hide

my companion sparrow

must i walk

as other walk

 never hearing its strange call

shadow catcher  ever stalking

piñatas of nightmare.

worm people turning

on the other side of ground

for i am undesirable..

i was never meant

go as walking

for my braces do not mend

as other walk i wish

my insignificant

footsteps leave no path.

as the text book writes

diagrams of sentences on my calmness

as words spell their inward power

in the propellers of dandelion seeds

that swirl against the glass of windows.

seeds why cannot

i roam as you

free for the merest afternoon

to awaken   surprised

by my new form

as time on its elephant feet

as passed into

the backdoor of the day

--for my small world

may be a poem

given shape my

toiling fingers

filling only the lapses of imagination

pinnacles that touch

but small within

there are many chambers

minuscule for i

am without ambition

for i only wish to go deeper

to touch the strange molecules

of my soul..

i make models

with paper mache

only guess at the world

within the world

as the class returns

to the rote of crossword puzzles…..

Andrew~
I found the title of this so suiting, interesting work..
The second stanza is one that I cannot understand,hmm..
Anyhow..my friend, be well and keep the pen flowing with your beautiful imagination.
