Just A Man

He told me he was "just a man"

A blatant understatement if ever there was one

For he has an abundance of wisdom...but remains humble

Is exceptionally busy...yet takes time to show he cares

Has a measure of pride...but not a sprinkle too much

Is brimming with friendship...but will make room for one more

Has a big heart...pounding with compassion, affection and courage

He is not "just a man"

He is a just man

Men like that are very few and far between! I'm glad that you've found one that qualifies...They are rare...like you.
Love you, gal!

Ahhhh, dear Barbs, this is such a delicate and beautiful write about this fellow, and I know that if he reads it, it will warm his day~! I like the way that you chose the qualities that are so vitally important to us women~ A 'just man' is really hard to find, but there are a few on this site that this old bag lady thinks are just under that title~!!
Great work as always, my friend...Good to see your words on screen...
Maggie, a friend with a hug....

Ah, well it seems you have found the perfect friend.
Smart, yet humble. Busy yet taking time to care. Prideful, but not obnoxious. No one who could fit that description could be "just a man," cause he would be a just man.
I'm sure the person you wrote this for will be nothing but happy today.

Lovely work Barbara. He sounds like quite a man. I like the qualities you point out - they're all the important ones we should look for in someone, not their wealth or looks. Clever ending too. Well done.

A simple change of a word or two and the man becomes someone else entirely...clever word usage.

Awwww, this was just lovely Barbara! What finer words could you have said? This man will appreciate it, I am sure, and I hope he realizes what a treasure he has in you as well. Barbie

This is an excellent write! Whoever this is for, I have no doubt at all that he will be humbled by it, but at the same time, have a very warm glow inside Wonderful stuff.
