The Kiss Series~Parting Kiss

The Parting Kiss

She could almost feel it
In the way he lingered not
The fire slowly dying
A passion soon forgot

She knew it would be that last time
He would ever say good bye
There was nothing she could do
But stand there and start to cry

He headed for the airport
She turned and wondered why
At what point had he given up
Or when she had ceased to try

She wondered at the parting
Of where their love did end
Remembering love’s beginning
And when it became pretend

This lonely bitter agony
Of a kiss and love gone awry
She could only put fingers to her lips
Hold his parting kiss and sigh

isn't it interesting that the parting kiss isn't always connected to a departure....sometimes it happens and you don't even know it.

Like Dan Ross said, "Those are the ones you hope you will taste forever!" But you prefer to never taste at all. Great job.
Damon

Oh now, here is a sad kiss indeed. The one that says goodbye. It hurts the heart Cindy, and that makes for a brilliant piece. Excellent. ~Pam
