Turning Leaf

Fall's first cold winds,
Paint the hills with red and gray.
Leaves touched by summer sun,
Loose their grip and fall away.

So it is we come to this,
As old ways brittle with use.
Trials of love and loss that shape,
Pile up as cold and stale refuse.

Each leaf gently lets go,
No option there to stay.
In another instant touches ground,
May fall delicately a new way.

So it is we come to this,
Yet no decision ours to debate.
Born of love, souls travel deep,
Somehow, already knowing our fate.

The similarities between our seasons of nature and the seasons of our lives is striking..Those beautiful fall colors are the colors of death..I was shocked to find out that the fall colors of leaves are there all the time. Its just when the chlorophyll runs back into the trees you can see them..Running this site kinda puts a damper on the writing volume, huh?:O)....len

Ya know, I thought that since you became owner, that you stopped writing, it has been a while since your last post, it was worth the wait though. Terrific write, Joe
