Monk like ways.

Ever walking

a cane a wise companion

Embers a steadiness

Ghost of moon blooms

in translucent mind.

Most of life

it emptying the dark skies

of self

monkeys forgetting the gift of wings

trace the words

in untouchable spirit

thirsty deep

language make me drink

beyond the desire of fullness

my sleeping libations

are spelled on the leaves

it the most meandering paths

as they spill

the compassion of newness

into my monk like ways

smooth passages

abandon my speaking

even mousetraps may find peace

as the cane labors

offers the nameless

the kindness

the regret of a map.

For i have been blessed

With the noun of not knowing

Which way to go

For a road is made new

Only by walking

And new worlds found in the old….

What struck me in this poem was that we never do know what the other path held...I have pondered this...who can know, how can we regret what we do not know...?

Very interesting poem my dear friend, nice work to read and think about, always broadens my thoughts to read your poems.

Best wishes,

A simple peaceful life, the road travelled is the new adventure. Very nice, Joe
