Crying in the rain

From my eyes these tears come down

But they remain hidden from view

Though Iíve cried enough to drown

After yet another argument with you

We are all talked out, nothing left to say

We have shared equally in the pain

That is why I walked out today

From now on I will cry in the rain

The tracks of the tears remain hidden

Though I regard them with such disdain

I shall reveal nothing, thatís forbidden

I will do all my crying in the rain

None shall know my heart is broken

That will remain between you and I

The breaking began with words misspoken

There is no more reason to try

Life will go on, this heart will mend

Thereís no point loving in vain

A happy face to all Iíll pretend

Iíll do all my crying in the rain

Yes, sometimes opening the heart, being vulnerable and showing feelings ARE a waste...sigh.

Excellent poem here my friend.
Flowing, rhyming, and beautifully structured.
...with heart of sleeve~

The sad truth so many of us haved lived. It is sad sometimes that love sometimes come to this end...and all we can do is keep on pretending for the rest of the world. I could feel the heartache and emotion in each phrase.

Great writing Henry, hope you aren't having to pretend like are the sweetest!

*sigh* I guess sometimes, that is the only choice there is, and sometimes then, it simply is not enough. When the heart breaks, it takes time to heal and it always bears a scar.
Henry, you have written the words I have lived. Apparantly I am not alone. :o) Good to know. ~Pam

Ah aren't alone when you're out many of us choose to hide our tears by standing in the rain...I think that is why I have always loved the is a great cover up for the tears...
Beautiful but sad...

Another sad poem. So many...very heart-wrenching. It's too bad that love has to be the way it does...

Excellent write...
