Rap Music: Steel Doors

I'm a Steel Door

and I'm the one who set you free.

So when you go back

-that's right, reach back-

just try to remember

I was the one who held the Key.

O! I'm a Steel Door,

you remember, the one who released you.

So when you come back

-that's right, reach back-

just try to remember

I was the one who held the Key.

Author's Notes:

AUTHOR'S NOTE

Rap takes things & makes them objects.
The objects become symbols; cultural, social, emotional.
 It doesn't really matter.
The symbols become causes & the causes something to do during the day or year.
When Rap takes on a personality, it's Music.
Like the noise of a city street with its millions of untold stories & unforgotten souls.
The objects, as examples in this work titled, "Steel Doors",
are a Steel Door & a Key. The personality fits almost any Rapper today.

All the best,

Jamieson from Palm Beach
where you're only a breeze away
from any Caribbean Island.

Jamieson...
sorry it has taken me so long to get here...but it was worth the journey to read this. Sounds like my kids trying to grow up and escape from the confines of home...but in time they will look back and see...hopefully...that we weren't the cold, unyeilding steel they think us now, but will reach back and look back to see that we really DID give them the key to life.

Interesting write, my friend!
