In Search Of

My journey has been long
Upon this earth I've tread

And every time I look around
My heart begins to dread

That I will miss my soul's one match
That glove that fits my hand
The heart that recognizes me
One single grain amidst the sand

Sometimes I think I may have found
The one my heartshall know
Then carefully I examine vein
In which their soul does flow

Only to discover
A clog within the path
And sadly I must back away
Searching for the one that lasts

O God if there is a heaven
More desirous on this earth
Would be a sweet surrender
Of a love thats has been birthed

Between two hearts, two minds, two souls
That simply find they are blended
Completed by no other
Fashioned into something splendid

Until that time that I shall wear
The glove that fits my hand
And slips into the velvet lining
Of the dream my heart has planned

I will thus go about my searching
And hoping but to find
My perfect match eternal
Where hands and hearts entwine

Author's Notes:

The idea of soul mates is something I guess I just cannot give up on. I have come so close to it, but seems that though hearts were so very linked...hands were not able to find the time and space to entwine. Destiny can be so cruel the way it does us.

Soulmates such a beautiful concept.... and I guess I am just too much of a romantic to accept otherwise.

Oh my God Cindy, I don't know how I could've missed this! But I am so glad I found it now. This is a true work of beauty Cindy, and from one romantic to another, don't ever give up on the idea of a perfect match for your soul, he is out there somewhere, possibly right under your nose! Beautifully expressed and written!  Henry

Nothing wrong with being a romantic woman. Love will find you or you will find love or love will find you in love. Anyway, something is gonna happen and love will be there for you Ms Cindy Bendel. Cool write!

You have a right to seek out your soulmate Cindy, wherever he may be, and your heart will let you know when you have found him. He could be around the next corner or maybe even right before you and you have not seen him yet, But fate will lead you where you need to go, it always does. Great writing Cindy! Henry

Time and space does have a way of ruining even the best laid plans and the heart is always the first to suffer. Brilliant my friend, brilliant.
