Frozen in Amber

Crystallized is each priceless moment,
Timeless measures of feeling that we shared.
Frozen in amber, bled by a heart in torment.
Clutched so tight I can only be ensnared.

Peering within, at the enigma of her,
Vivid, alive, she reigns in places we knew.
With a promise to relive any second tender,
The power of her eyes draws me within.

No longer seen through sad, longing eyes,
Instantly clear the joy she did impart.
Facing, joining hands, no more good-byes,
Walking forever in the forest of my heart.

Frozen in amber, clear and soft as the dew,
My choice to remain where visions linger of we two.

"Walking forever in the forest of my heart", a fitting summation. Shifting one's focus on the positive memories of a past relationship is far less torturous than dwelling on the end. Lovely expressive and sincere penning.

Sorry for my lacking of knowledge, why the second stanza differs from the others?

theres my man.

way to go rich.

great choice of words.

sometimes i felt a little lost.

these words were very discriptive.

but some readers could get caught up in them.

most writers would understand.

but your readers are your audience.

all in all, it was awesome.

good love story.

These are tender, beautiful expressions...this poem is a product of deep emotions. I agree with Bruce Peaslee below...memories of a great love are always bittersweet.

Rich- Would that we could share this with all that has lost a loved one, in such a way as to reduce the heartache of losing a loved one. This is a beatiful way of expressing that bittersweet moment when grief ends and soothing memories take over. Good work sir.

Oh, my. I feel trapped like a deer in headlights. How is it, do you suppose, that love so engrosses us that even its memory controls our minds? Breathlessly beautiful, so real its scary, and darn well done. ML
