By James L Lagoski

I'm standing here in the back of my mind
Where I talk to my friend who left me behind
You know I never got to say goodbye
So I've asked him for the reason why

My friend since I was just a kid
I've had my problems like he did
Yet I don't think when he ran away
He knew the price we all would pay

Although he breathed within my thoughts
My heart had parts tangled in knots
Until he took me through the light
And told me that he was alright

So beneath his name engraved in stone
My thoughts won't let him walk alone
With all the tears that have been cried
We give the love he felt denied

----IN MEMORY OF----
William Thomas Moore
Author's Notes:
This is one of my most cherished poems from the first book-
I have had a lot of struggles in this life since Bill committed suicide 10 years ago but feel like when he could he always tried to help me make it past the confusion-
Lately things have really been screwed up
and I don't necessarily mean in my own personal life-
I feel surrounded by so many peoples pain and it scares me.
Because things I know that some of you are going through,
Are exactly what Bill was going through at the end of his Journey-
It makes me wonder sometimes if he doesn't direct me towards some who need to hear encouragement from someone-Anyone- Even if it is someone they have never met-
It is like he knows who needs a boost right now and when I feel that, I pour my soul out so that the compassion I give is not just read but completely felt-
Otherwise writing it would be a waste of time-
Time I don't have in between everything going on upon my own pages of existence-
Life can sometimes be overwhelming-
Help each other out or folks this world can not survive much longer as you know it today- It is really up to YOU-
May You all find the peace of Shangri~La-
Best Wishes~

This is beautiful, I'm so sorry for your loss- My friend Josh died when we were in high school suddenly from menengitis and it was really hard on everybody because we had no idea it was coming and nobody got to say goodbye.

Its hard but eventually you just have to make peace with it or it will tear you apart.

Hope your doing alright, I know this was one of your earlier pieces so hopefully you have already made your peace.

Love, Rin

I have read your previous writes on this topic.
Indeed your dear, late friend has left indellable scars on those who loved yourself James can become overbearing at times.....and unable to cope, some give up.
A beautiful yet sad write my friend.

This is so sad, yet leaves a warming feeling in the reader. This may be an older poem of yours, James, but as you keep posting you seem to keep out-doing yourself.
