The Good Cry

huddled
i lie in fetal like pose
hands up over my eyes
darkness hides a world
so cruel and daunting
as a volcanic heart explodes
spewing hot lava tears
emitting sobs of both pain and release
as waves of salty seas wash up
warming a face, reds a nose
where a snotty snort
expels a piercing ache
of loves lost hope
from naked life within
and the soul is buffeted
contracting a world
where no one can enter
but only i can be freed
and i am delivered
by the purging of
the
good
cry

I see the shape of the poem as a violin...the instrument that sounds like crying.  It's amazing, when you have a "really good cry" just like you've described it IS as impressive as this...and it stays with you as a reminder...what not to touch...which road never again to wander....

I haven't read such a good description of crying before. It almost makes me want to try it myself. Good work.

Beautifully well written Cindy. I love it! Sometimes it is hard to cry, though, even if we do need to.

For some of us a good cry is difficult to come by. This is so vivid.

i can see how important a good cry is for you... but for me personally, i havent the greatest sentiment toward crying... makes me a bit frustrated, in fact i feel weak when i do... but thats my warped perception on it, i suppose... i liked your write... very well-expressed.. thanks for sharing :f

Crying releases your anger, your fear and any other emotions that you are feeling at a particular time. Very nice here Cindy, Joe

Crying frees the mortal soul from the pain and anguish it is going though. Very nicely written!
