Under The Merest Leaf

Water how cold

Is the bottom of a pail

How the moon floats

In silver of your depths.

Images how you emerge

From the other side of mind

Spoken beyond language

on  tip of spirit’s tongue…

This body that I was loaned

Flexibility long worn out

Is not sufficient for the task

To reflect in the beautiful

Luminous expanse

To pour you

humbly into words

without eloquence

Is all i can do

and you pour my spirit

Into the farthest star

Reach imagination’s cage

under  the merest leaf

My name is hidden

As a world is looted

in the shadow of a single hour…..

Fascinating Andrew :o)

I enjoyed the opening stanza...I dont know if its imagination...but I could see you walking under the moon, carrying a pail of water and becoming inspired poetically by the enchantment you create in your own mind, with the most mundane tasks.

I enjoy the way you make the mindane magical, and weave your deep thoughts into mystical metaphors.

Great poem, friend.

Hugs,
Pamela
