Ink In Snow

when the stalks of twilight bloom
so do my feet strike
in humble servitude
the need for hast...
My Strength Straw

forgotten like
the simple elegance

of well sewn buttons.

Through the fields
of eyeless dreams.
I wander with only
the merest crumbs of bread,
feed the sparrow of my insight
on the twist and twin
of moonless roads

patch-less are my concerns..
Majestic planets speak
to me of forbidding aspects..
i long have forgotten
the splendor of your name
long the owls
wait in the most ancient of sentences
can not the bull-head
period come forth
like a cat holding
politely the door open wide
with gleaming fangs
hunger for a mouse
to explore the stain of darkness
as my path flows
on the tender blooms of mysteries
the alien emptiness
the abode of fabulous creatures

seems my lot
cold castles abandoned before
the mortar of their stories
could be inscribed

like the arms

of too long sweater drag cuffs

the wearer blessed

with the the surprise of hands ..

i pay for my passage
with the memories
of little candles
wax like passions
that shrouds my misery
with a soft glow
of acceptance
and words silently burning
from the merest prayer
and i find the secret Griffin
of my namelessness gentleness
for the words flow
as ink in the snow....

Hi Andrew,

I think the serenity prayer expresses this dilemma or striving is the distinction betwixt knowing what is changeable, the bravery to change it and the unchangeable, accepting it graciously.

Therein lies the wisdom, they say...

Lovely poetry Andrew.

Best wishes,
