In the cathedral of the sun

In the cathedral of the sun

Phoenix dwell

In crystal fire

Flaming pillars of ancient words

Spoken in the depths of sky..

i travel not as they travel

for i do not renew

only the tread barest end for me

still i visit infinite in the corners of my mind--

the skin of dreams smooth

quiet in my lack of grandeur--

fruit of strange months

how you present yourself

in test and intuitive leaf luminous

around the calm oceans of the sky.

How i have longed

To fly in the secret

In feathers that would remember

Newness And join the phoenix

and learn the language

Of star burned words.

Dear Phoenixes

sing no more in my dreams

For when i awake

all has become cold

Your songs linger redolent

In improbable geometries

And then are forgotten

In numb namelessness

As the ice cubes  slip

Out of my lips into

Pails of moonlight

into waiting rooms of worlds

uncounted..
