Invisible Woman

If anyone wonders what my secret may be...
how I can see what others cannot see...
It's my invisibility...
that's right...
Invisible woman, that's me
It's the nondescript way I saunter into a room
and meld with the woodwork
Yes, I'm a wallflower
from way back when
Invisible woman, that's me
They say I'm mysterious, distant and aloof
no one can ever know me
even if they think they do...
that's true
Invisible woman, that's me
I'll be the first to admit it
I am an island
sourrounded by a sea of books and poetry
What else could one need?
Invisible woman, that's me
People say they do not understand me
but, I'm not that hard to read
if you have a magnifying glass
I'm a mystery novel, indeed
Invisible woman, that's me
I'm unobtrusive, soft-spoken and quiet
born under an invisible star
on a starless, moonless night
That's right
Invisible woman, that's me
I offer no apologies
for many lessons were learned by observing
I cringe when the louder ones
shout their demands
It disturbs my sensibilities
and amplifies my invisibility
Invisible woman, that's me
No one can invade my private fortress
or ever get to me
for I'll be in my invisible rocker
drinking my invisible cup of tea...
Invisible woman, that's me

you have shown us that invisible can still make a big impression...but only if one pays attention.  i feel like this...never want to be the center of attention...and if i have something to say i speak softly.  you expressed it so well!

This poem is really very nice. The flow of words is amazing in this poem which goes to show the creative mind of the author.

Just WONDERFUL.....And, again we have the same person that we read....I, too, am a Maya fan~ You being invisible is not true, when you look deeply into your Soul, and come out with one of the most glorious adventures for humans~ You are such a deep, and intelligent being, that I bow to your wisdom~! Invisible by choice, and your light beams in Energy~! Lessons ARE learned by observing, and by observing you, I feel that I know you~
Margaret....that Cosmic Sister that is waiting for the shuttle home...(smile)
