The Casket
The casket of a child—Drives the parents nearly wild. The villain agony—Brought the parents to their knees. The casket of a child—Holds a body meek and mild. The child now is gone.In memory, the child lives on.The parents will always remember—The child meek and tender.

I agree with Nick, Damon. I think you should definetly keep writing.. everything I've read so far I've liked. You have a gift, absolutely. This poem is delicately tragic yet wistful somehow. I just lost of my friends Jim last weekend and his death was soo hard to deal with.. so I really esp enjoyed this. Death is never easy but I think if it can be written about, it can be dealt with. Of course thats true of many things.. lol.. good luck~ Joy

This reminds me of Hans Christian Anderson's "A Child in the Grave," such a dreadfully sad truth faced by too many parents. Beautifully penned my friend.

This is very sad. I would hate to see any child pass away before their time. *S* Wind Whisperer

Very nicely Written on such a tragic subject. My friend just went through this, having to pick out a casket for her 9 year old daughter, who was stuck by a drunk driver while walking down the sidewalk. It been a year since she's been gone, she is missed greatly.
Yours............Tracy

Very sad Damon, but I was so relieved to know u were not writing from personel experience. Even still, u have penned a very tragic subject beautifully. Too many children die senselessly every day, the way it is...Hugz...Your' friend Jillian

I was pleased to see that it was fictional and not from your family or friends....However, today with all the children that have been murdered, abducted and such, it is a poignant piece~
