I'm Missing You So Much

There... There it is again.
A message so, so rare...
Instant, deep emptiness inside,
Why, I ask myself, why?

Seems you are so happy...
That knowledge brings me joy,
I look for words to support your choice,
And draw less attention to me.

The answer clear my friend,
I'm missing you so much.

Words... Words help no more.
They only say I love you so.
Only you know what you need,
I must relax and let you be.

Earlier, your silence said more,
Than I know you could bear to say.
What's on my mind fades in relevance,
Yet I can't cut this last lifeline.

So you know my friend,
I'm missing you so much.

Tonight, I sit here in my grief,
Reading between your strokes.
And your words, I seek some trace,
Of any feeling from before.

The values you write about,
Say you're just the same...
The sweet soul I once met,
I can't see you've changed.

No matter what I say,
I'm missing you so much.

I'll always long to see you,
I wanted so much for us.
It hurts to know I always will,
But won't be there to tell you so.

Each day, I miss that feeling,
Of being won over so completely,
That nothing else mattered.
Now everything else I dread.

Makes ones heart sad to read this, Rich. So emotionally charged with sadness. I know the depth of this sorrow too.
Very tender piece, Sir.

Your emotion is so clear, and your heart is so exposed in this poem. I, having just gone through a breakup, can relate to what you are saying - of trying to be happy for the other person and being saddened by the fact that you can no longer tell them how you feel. Excellent job, Richard! Keep on fighting the good fight!

Strongly hints of the melancholy I seem to know so well. As always, beautifully written and expressed. ~ Cindy

Emotionally packed...the reader feels the heartache in every line.

These are tender thoughts...strongly stated. Very good work!

Rich...this is sadly beautiful! my heart aches after reading it, seeing your heart and soul poured into these words. Your lines about silence saying more than words ever could...How well I know this feeling!
Well spoken, my friend, and you always have a friend in me, if you need to vent.
Many hugs to you!

Ohhh Rich, this just dripped with emotion, right straight off the desk and onto the floor. That last verse just tears it..this was phenominal Rich. Your words never disappoint me. Thank you for sharing again. Barbie
