Tree Of Passion

The tree of Passion bears no fruit

just a suggestion of dark stained letters

written in mist like cursive

how hard the limbs

curious the night stained bark

as winds recite of sky

tattered are the symbolic  leaves

nouns and adjectives swarm in mystery

in crawling lines…

Taste what is offered

With a quiet tongue

First how sweet

As the stars find

There long passages in sky

Words how you fill

How you empty

How in the end the utterances

Wanting to be spoken that cannot be..

In a throat  not clever

Is the desolation of a island

knowing only sea and its changes

The words of passion becomes rich and  bitter

And moonlight shines on the wounds

Of a damaged soul…

And tempts unthinking moths

Seduced With travel

Beyond endurance beyond stone,

Crystal stream

And husks and silk of sepulcher

For the poems I have written

Shall cross their wings

And share a crypt

Await the coming fall

In depths of memory

For the tree of Passion bears no fruit….

In depths of memory
For the tree of Passion bears no fruit…."
