I Linger And Watch Your Face

The essence of deep shadow I seem
Tonight shifting silently within this realm.
Drifting through thorny bushes and tips of trees
I can hear moonlight's effect on nearby leaves.
Ignoring the playful hunt of a lone black cat
And the quiet whisper of the wind
I sense familiar soft song and steps nearby
Long has been the search, is this the time?
Drifting closer in anticipation
It IS you that I find dancing there.
Within this favorite clearing your return
Cast so deep in shadowy wood.
Bathing within this clear full-moon night
Surrounded by your softly glowing aura.
Clothed merely in the glistening dew
So vulnerable are you, I fear.
Excited and spun by the perfection,
Adagio your graceful pirouette,
The dew only tenuously maintains it's grip
On your soft pale skin.
Closer.... I must be to you...... I must,
You perceive so much more than shadow.
Closer, ever more near I stand
Finally, I gently offer you my hand.
Accepting the humble gesture,
Entwining our arms together.
As you smile longingly
Continuing your sensual dance.
As the evening wears on
I surround you 'til we are one.
Replacing the moon's cold stare
With the snug earthy warm of night.
Embracing the fullness of your skin
We exchange the mysteries of the night.
Then holding you softly as you rest
In twilight unwillingly I look from your eyes.
The darkness or light no effect on your beauty
Tide or full moon change not your countenance.
Unlike you I am bound to these things
For none could take my place if I stayed.
To the westward wind I say my wish
That someday I'll again encounter you here.
My leave I know I must quickly take
My powers at risk as I linger and watch your face.

Rich! Am I going to have to hose you two down? LOL To say you steamed up the forrest is to do an injustice to this spiritual, sensual dance in the moonlight. It takes my breath away and Jody will be unbearable now since she inspired this! I think it has to get in my fav bucket... beautiful work. Jude
