~My Dog Rex~

My dog Rex is,
a very strange breed.
Part Chow and St. Bernard,
he costs a fortune to feed.

Don't let his size fool ya,
he's gentle as a lamb.
Unless you try to mess with me,
then you better scram.

He would fight the biggest man,
just to protect me.
But let the neighbors Chihuahua come,
and he'll be hiding between my knees.

We got him as a puppy,
now he's three years old.
His favorite time of year,
is when it's ice-cold.

He loves to run and jump,
in the white snow.
The deeper it is,
he jumps with more gusto.

Did I mention he thinks,
he is a lapdog.
At 110 pounds,
I tell him he's a fat hog.

He likes to lay between,
Fletch and I in bed.
He likes it when we rub his belly,
and his big head.

He is so spoiled rotten,
but I wouldn't have him any other way.
He shows us love,
each and every day.

Author's Notes:

I love the big mutt.
He is my extra shadow.
He doesn't let me out of his sight,
when I'm at home.

HONEY, YOU DIDN'T MENTION THE BOMBS ON THE FLOOR
OR THE SIMPLE FACT THAT HE THINKS HIMSELF A WHORE
KNOCKING OVER THE TRASH WHEN WE AREN'T HOME
GETING OUT THE GATE AND THRU THE NEIGHBORHOOD HE WILL ROAM
WHY NOT SAY THAT YOU ONCE CALLED HIM A LABADOR
BUT WHEN I SAW HIS GREAT BIG FEET I KNEW WHAT WAS IN STORE
ALL I WANTED WAS A BIG BLACK LAB BUT NOOOOOOOOOO
YOU HAD TO GET A DOG THAT JUST CONTINUES TO GROW
I ADMIT I LOVE HIM OR I'D MAKE HIM GLUE
THIS WAS A DAMN GOOD POEM AND HONEY I LOVE YOU TOO
YOUR HUSBAND ..............FLETCH
