Your Star

The motion of distant stars,
Over our heads could I alter,
As easy as I could change,
This feeling of love for you.

Push them around I offered,
Make right the time and space.
Dance with the forces of nature,
I said for the rest of my days.

Sadly, even stars themselves expire.
Their dusty essence, follows.
Just so as my pain recedes,
My love for you still remains.

Love, like the tiniest bluish nova,
Shines bravely with a brand new face.
Starting on a another journey,
No longer maintaining the same pace.

After former self's implosion done,
Against further change balanced.
Love burns strong and bright,
Casting everything shed to shadow.

Beautiful, soft, and resigned to love having taken up permanant residence. How long does the light keep shining after a star dies...that's how long you'll keep loving ...Brilliant, laddie buck, just lovely - Jude

Youbie Newbie, you're supposed to furnish me hankies when you write things like this that make my heart hurt. Don't force me to have to give you the 'proper care and feeding of a Jude' speech...........

Love and the cosmos...What a lovely comparison. Love is not something we mortals seem to be able to do anything about..It is, or it isn't...Beautiful poem, Rich...len
