AS NIGHT FALLS

She opens herself to my loving gaze.

My heart is on fire, her heart is ablaze.

We stand facing each other, breast touching chest

And although to each other no words are addressed

I know what she thinks, for she thinks as I do.

Above us the sky is a dark shade of blue.

The sun has begun to disappear

And the moon is in view, so sharp and clear.

A soft, warm wind gently blows through her hair;

I hold her close to me and feel her bare

Arms round my waist. How wonderful that touch!

My hands stroke her back, and tenderly clutch

At her hair. As I hold her head, we kiss,

Softly at first - we must savour the bliss.

But soon our passion takes control

And the sky will become as black as coal

Before that kiss and embrace are done.

And when we walk beneath tomorrow’s sun

We will know each other so completely;

No two lovers ever loved so sweetly.

I agree with Jude! My computer monitor has steamed up as well (better watch out , there could be a law suit in this!)
Incredibly erotic in the most sublime way...You have completely captured that special time...that transversing boundaries, so lost in today's 'wham bang thank you maam mentality!'
This is romantic, sensual writing at its very best. Into favs for me.

Dang, Peter, you've steamed up my computer monitor! I do think that the poems that hint at love's passion are so much more sensual that the explicit material. You've let us peek in your window and have us smiling at the beauty. Somewhere there is a very lucky lady for this could not have been written by an empty heart! Jude....hummmmmmmm

Tastefully done Peter...just the perfect amount of disclosure. This is tender and passionate...an all around enjoyable declaration of love.

Splendid!
